...IN BALI, INDONESIA

Tens of thousands of homeless dogs and cats, as well as other animals are living in horrible circumstances, suffering every day with diseases, malnutrition and exploitation.

Our mission is to enable the animals to live a dignified life, rather than a life of pain and premature death. We provide treatment and look after strays with the adequate medication and food. While sick and young animals are being taken off the streets, treated by a veterinarian, and sheltered in Eliane’s private home, with foster parents or in a local shelter.

After a full recovery, the animals will be re-socialized. The goal is to find them a new home with responsible and loving owners. As the safety of these animals isn’t always guaranteed in Indonesia, we try to emphasize alternatives, such as adoptions to foreign countries with well implemented animal protection laws.

Furthermore, in order to reduce overpopulation and suffering of stray animals, we attempt to castrate or sterilize and vaccinate as many street animals as possible. Local communities are also involved, as they engage with the animal-human relationship. We also work closely with local veterinarians and other animal welfare organizations.

THIS IS REALITY...

1'000'000 DOGS ARE SLAUGHTERED ANNUALLY IN INDONESIA, 70,000 OF WHICH ARE IN BALI.

The rabies epidemic in 2008 caused a lot of problems for the population of Bali Dogs and incited further mistreatment, neglecting and poisonings.

The extremely intelligent Bali Dog is actually a breed with a very unique DNA – it is the purest breed in the world. It has survived for 12’000 years without human intervention. That makes it the oldest breed in the world, older than the Australian Dingo. But now the unique dogs face mankind as its greatest enemy.

Our mission is to protect these precious animals!
